Over time Mate has progressed in all sectors of the supply chain, reaching the prestigious goal of the Hall of Fame, confirmed by this excellent performance. Founded by Mate Vekić, who gained his experience in Tuscany, today the farm is run by Aleksandra, who has supplied it with modern extraction and bottling systems and owns 27,500 trees on 69 hectares of surface. In the last harvest 1,742 quintals of olives were produced, with a yield of 208 hectolitres of oil.
There are four Extra Virgin from Organic Farming, the three Monocultivar Bianca Bellezza, Timbro Istriano and Viola Tonda, and the splendid blend Trasparenza Marina, which is an intense limpid golden yellow colour with light green hues. Its aroma is ample and rotund, with vegetal hints of artichoke and chicory and aromatic notes of mint and rosemary. Its taste is complex and elegant, with a flavour of lettuce, black pepper and almond. Bitterness is distinct and pungency is definite and harmonic.
Grubić is a renowned Istrian olive grower based in Bale, known for its award-winning extra virgin olive oil and a historic oil mill renovated in 2006. The estate manages 8 hectares of olive groves with 1,700 trees, producing high-quality oils recognized in the Flos Olei guide.
