Cipressino

The Cipressino is an Italian olive variety from Puglia known for its fast, vertical growth and suitability for mechanical harvesting, producing a delicate, slightly sweet oil.

Origin Puglia (Italy).

Agro biological properties Large and fast growing with dense, compact cylindrical foliage. Branches grow straight up. Suitable for compact planting (vertical growth), with the usual distance between the rows. Olives are rounded-oval and medium in size (2 - 3,5g). Suitable for mechanical harvesting.

Fruit bearing Good and continuous, with gradually maturing drupes. A medium tardy cultivar, reaching full maturity in November-December.

Fertilization Anemophile fertilization (wind carried), with 50-60% abortions.

Resistance to adversities Good resistance to climatic adversities including wine and salt haze as well as common olive tree parasites.

Quality of the oil Delicate intensity, slightly sweet.
