Northwestern Istria is a destination that with its characteristics meets the interests and needs of all types of cyclists. This part of Istria, with its 19 maintained and marked trails which include the towns of Umag, Novigrad, Buje and Brtonigla is suitable for all mountain and road specialists, as well as for cycle-tourists. It will successfully host not only competitors in preparations for sport events, but also tourists and recreational cyclists.
This part of Istria offers variety of mountain and road cycling routes including the brightest jewel which is the cycling route Parenzana, it's situated along the old narrow-gauge railway which used to connect 33 places in Istria (from Trieste to Porec).
Vineyards and olive groves, forests and streams, medieval towns on the hills are all part of the cycling story in which you can enjoy in Northwestern Istria.
There are numerous cycling events which are organized every year. Professional or recreational cycling competitions (more than 15 recreational events are organized per year) can be proud of great organization, top and unforgettable experiences.
