The Venetian Lion hiking trail is a 4.5 km circular route starting and ending in Višnjan, offering a journey through historic Venetian-era architecture, local vineyards, and traditional Istrian landmarks.
This trail will evoke the atmosphere of the time the rule of the Venetian Republic. It takes you through the historic town of Višnjan. From the A. Korlević Square in Višnjan (sundial), you will head off to the old town passing under the Venetian Lion Arch, then walk down the stone path to the old village of Barat and continue back towards Višnjan's square. Walking down this trail you will see the Istrian Ox (Boškarin) and the goat, the trademarks of Istria. You will then also pass through wine-growing area of Višnjan.
